“TRUE ECCENTRICITY IS A GENUINE AND UNCONTRIVED REACTION TO THE WAY YOU VIEW THE WORLD. TO TRY TO BE A ECCENTRIC WOULD LEAD TO FAILURE AND TO BE BORN AN ECCENTRIC WOULD BE A BURDEN AS YOU’LL ALWAYS BE AT ODDS WITH MEDIOCRITY OF THE MAJORITY” Tim Walker, Storyteller
I am going to kick this off with one of my favourite fashion photographers EVER…Tim Walker!!
For me it’s the magical visions he has that he makes into a reality…beginning with detailed sketches of his ideas
“AND WHEN EVERYTHING COMES TOGETHER AND YOU LOOK THROUGH THE VIEWFINDER, THERE IS A WINDOW TO SOMETHING MAGICAL. YOU SEE SOMETHING YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN AND TO CATCH IT IS SUCH A THRILL” Tim Walker, Storyteller
I would love to be inside his mind for a day, living in his dreamland of creativity and to understand his thought process…it would make my life 🙂
My absolute fav shoot of his is from Vogue, December 2008 called: Tales of the Unexpected where he brings the characters of Roald Dahl’s imagination to life with the splendidly eccentric pair, Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter.
“JUST KEEP THINGS SIMPLE, DON’T LET THE TECHNICALITY PREVENT YOU FROM EXPRESSING YOURSELF. THERE IS A BEAUTY TO THE SIMPLICITY OF THE CAMERA. IT DOESN’T NEED TO BE COMPLICATED. PUT ANOTHER WAY, THE TECHNICALITIES OF A CAMERA DON’T NEED TO STOP SOMEONE BECOMING A PHOTOGRAPHER…” Tim Walker, Storyteller
